Kirkton Wine Club

Kirkton Wine Club was established in March 1973 and named in honour of the Hunter Valley's & Australia's first commercial vineyard Kirkton Estate, established in 1824 and located at Lower Belford near Branxton. The Estate is  widely considered to be the birthplace of the Australian Wine Industry.

Kirkton Wine Club is a "Wine Appreciation Club", where at each monthly meeting, a member (on a rotation basis) presents a curated taste of between 20 & 25 wines for members to appreciate, dissect & discuss,  with food.

For over 50 years, the dedication and commitment of our members has produced truly exciting, innovative, world-class tastes, showcasing the very finest wines from every corner of Australia and around the Globe. These tastes can be reviewed on the 'Past Tastes' tab on this site.

Our longest serving current member is Roger Lundy, who joined the club in February 1974, 11 months after its inception. Over the past 49 years Roger has never failed to amaze members with his fine, discerning palate.
